Fundamental Handgun

Overview:

This is a course designed for those among us who have never touched a weapon and those looking to get started on their training.  After graduating from this course, the student will be more comfortable around firearms, and knowledgeable on operation, maintenance, handling and marksmanship.

Focus will be on safety at all times: safe pick-up, holding, handing off, loading/unloading, malfunction clearance and storage.

Students completing this course will leave with a new found confidence in their skill and comfort at arms.

    Required Gear:
    • Handgun-  the gun you plan to carry is recommended. .38cal or larger is recommended.  You may also use a rental. Note- rental of a handgun requires a Nebraska Handgun Purchase Permit or CCW.
    • Two or more magazines for Semi-Auto.
    • Quality holster and magazine carriers (All holsters must completely cover the trigger) (No cross draw, small of the back, shoulder rigs allowed)
    • Quality belt (To ensure proper carry of holster)
    • Recommended to wear pants.
    • Shoes must be closed toe
    • Your Nebraska Drivers License
    • Ear and wrap around eye protection (required). Rentals are available.
    • Spare ammunition pouches, carrier, or magazine holster (optional)
    Ammunition Requirements
    • 150 rounds of ammunition. Factory ammunition only – (no reloads/hand loads)
    • No Ammunition in classroom.
